Hello everyone. I'm taking a break from my exam studying to do a little review for you. The Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil* from The Body Shop is described to be a luxurious dry shimmering body oil scented with honey and monoi. And that's what it is! Both the lovely smell and thin consistency make this product feel so luxurious when applied. To use you should shake well because the oil tends to sit on the top and then massage well in circular movements over the body. When finished you should wash your hands, because there would be shimmer left on the fingers.
The first layer of this shimmery oil has very minimal colour and golden shimmer (shown on the top pictures above). You should not confuse this product with a self-tanner, it will just add a subtle bronze tint to the skin. It is very moisturising, but it gets absorbed into the skin quickly, so I would recommend it to all skin-types, as it's not heavy. Also, it gives a very nice, healthy glow, but when you look at the skin from a close distance you can definitely see the shimmer. On a normal day, I would use this on my very pale and dry legs, to make them look healthier and prettier.
The second layer would add just a little bit more of colour (shown on the lower pictures above). I wouldn't recommend adding a third layer as it would just add more glitter, rather than colour and it would have more chance of transferring some of that glitter. So, it's not that build-able. The Shimmering Dry Oil is great for people who don't self-tan (like me), as well as for people who do and have a tan. When I apply it on my arm the shimmer somehow appears more vibrant and it is very obvious, under the sun. Unlike on my arms, on my legs the shimmer isn't obvious. This oil is great to apply all over the body for a beach party or a summer event, as to me this smells like summer. You should keep in mind that this cosmetic should not be applied on the face.
To sum up, this is awesome if you love glitter, but even if you don't you might like it. I am not the biggest fan of glitter all over me on a daily basis, but I love this on my legs. You don't need to exfoliate your skin prior to using it. It leaves the skin hydrated, but not oily and dries quickly. In addition, it blends and applies easily. In my opinion one layer is best for daily use. It gives a lovely healthy, barely sun-kissed glow that I love on my legs and it feels luxurious. I have to admit that it appears a bit scary in the bottle, for me. One more think to add is that I have the shade 02 Golden Honey and there's one more shade, according to the UK website. Lastly, this retails for 15 Euro.

I am fascinated by dry oils. I always thought they were greasy but once Body Shop associate apply one on me and I was shocked at how awesome it was (not greasy, just super moisturizing!). I have always been curious about the shimmery oils. I know NARS makes one as well that I want to try out. Nice to hear this is pretty.
