Since my favourite makeup items haven't really changed that much from last year's, I've decided to write a simple blog post rather than filming a long video. You can still watch last year's video though.

Let's start with the basics. My favourite foundation is no surprise to a regular reader, I think. It's the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation in 51, Light Vanilla. Firstly, it smells lovely, it feels like there's nothing on the skin, blends like a dream, it's creamy, moisturising and dewy. Also, it has light to medium coverage, and you can build it up, but I'm a natural-face type of girl. You could skip concealer, if you don't have many issues with your skin, on a lazy day. I always need to set the foundation with powder, as it can be a bit too shiny.

To set the foundation I opt for the Rimmel Stay Matte, Long Lasting Pressed Powder in 001, Transparent. It has a great colour for my skin-tone, and a bit of coverage thus, sometimes it replaces my liquid foundation. This powder feels like it's a good quality product, even though it's incredibly cheap. It mattifies the skin without drying it, which is important for a dry-skin kind of gal like myself.

Everybody has heard of the Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer and I have the shade 1, Fair. It really is a great concealer for the price. It covers, it's a good colour for me and does the job I need it for, but it can crease.

Moving on to eyebrows, the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint & Precision Shaping Pencil in Love is Blonde. This is probably the best product I have used on my brows, because the colours are rather close to my natural hair. Oddly enough, both ends have a slightly different colour. The felt tip liner is slightly warmer than what I would want it to be, but the pencil's colour is almost a perfect match. The felt tip is easier to use, as the pencil is a bit harder and you can't draw individual hairs.

A new addition to my favourites is the HD Brows Blusher 2, that I got in a GlossyBox. It's a beautiful and versatile colour, with tiny gold shimmer that highlight the cheekbones. It really is a great product, and when I use it I feel like I can skip bronzer, contouring and highlighting my cheeks.

I feel like I'm always using the Sigma Bare Eyeshadow Palette, maybe it's because I don't own any Naked palettes. Sadly, I don't have the money to get one. Bare's eyeshadows are not the most pigmented, nor have the best quality, but the actual selection of colours is brilliant. Snoop and Hitch are my favourite crease colours, whilst Elope and Approach are amazing for highlighting. Lastly, I feel like I should mention that I'm not a fan of the packaging.

Favourite mascara this year has been the Max Factor False Lash Effect in Black Brown. It's the perfect colour for me, it provides length and volume to my eyelashes. The wand is pretty large, but I don't really mind, as I have long lashes.

Time to talk about lips. There are two products that I have kept in my handbag all year long. The first one is the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in 03, Orange Punch - it is unrecognisable, I know. It is a lovely colour and product, as it is pigmented and moisturising. The coral colour is ideal for summer, and I can apply it without looking in a mirror.

The other lip product is the Essence Lipstick in 09, Wear Berries! The name actually has an exclamation mark. It's moisturising, pigmented and very cheap. It's sort of like a satin finish. Lastly, it's a lovely berry shade, ideal for everyday use in autumn and winter.

What are your 2014 favourites?
