For the last couple of weeks, I have been using the Tea Tree Cool & Creamy Wash* from The Body Shop, almost every day. It is described as a deep-cleansing daily wash which leaves skin super-clean, fresh and velvet soft and that's exactly what it is. Being in my late teens, my skin has blemishes and it's quite sensitive too, and I find that this product calms my skin, in some way. I've notice my skin being more even and it says that it works to banish blemish causing bacteria as it contains Tea Tree which is one of natures most potent antibacterials.
To use it, I squeeze a pea sized amount onto my fingertip and apply onto my damp face. Then, I massage lightly in small circular movements across the face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Lastly, I rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft towel. When you use it the first thing you'll probably notice is the fresh, forest smell, and then you might start feeling a cooling and refreshing sensation. I love that cooling sensation as it makes me relax, somehow. Sometimes, I wait a couple of seconds before rinsing the product off, just to enjoy that cool feeling. It's so cool, it sort of burns sometimes, but in a pleasant way, like a mint chewing gum. After removing it, it leaves the skin matter, softer, fresh, clean and brighter. In addition, I've noticed some reduction of the redness on my face and I think it makes my skin a bit lighter.
On the other hand, I haven't noticed any difference with my blackheads, but some blemishes have gone. I have been using it completely on it's own. The only other skincare products that I have used it with are the Avon Conditioning Eye Makeup Remover Lotion and my LR Aloe Vera Moisturiser. I have been using it once a day, at night, because like I said it's somewhat calming, to me. Also, I haven't tried using it twice a day, so I don't know how it would perform. Now that I think about it, I should use it in the morning too, as I think it would help de-puff my face.
In terms of makeup removing, this isn't the best, but after all it's not meant to be. It will remove minimal makeup, such as a BB Cream and powder, but my sister said that it didn't remove her medium coverage foundation. One other thing I would like to add is that I feel this cleanser is suitable for all skin-types, even though it is addressed to blemished or oily skins. I have normal skin and after using it, I didn't feel that tight feeling and one time I actually forgot to moisturise afterwards, because my skin felt normal. So, if you have oily or blemished or normal skin I would definitely recommend it. But even if you have dry skin you could also try this, as it is a lotion, just make sure you moisture your skin afterwards.
In conclusion, my skin really likes this creamy and fresh cleanser. It leaves my skin very soft and even and for €7.50 this is a great product. Furthermore, my skin loves this and I love it, as well. Sometimes, due to laziness, I don't use it and I feel like my skin is asking for it! I think I am going to buy one for my best friend's birthday in July and hopefully she will like it as much as I do.
