Hello everyone. Today's blog post is a little bit different. I've been wanting to blog about some of my university assignments for a while, so I thought I'd do one today, and if you like it, I'll post more in the future. After all, this is a blog about art as well as beauty and fashion. My second Photography project was about Urban Poetry. Let me explain it better, though. The project was about taking photos in any city, with a DSLR camera and without using any sort of editing. The final photos should at least be six, three of them should have graphic elements and the other three should just be about the feeling and spirit of the town. Oh and the term Urban Poetry is metaphorical.

The first photo is in the graphics category and I wanted to show the contrast between the pretty display window of the shop and the messy, dirty street. The second one wasn't in my finals, but I like it so I thought I'd add it too. It's just trying to show how quickly life goes on in the city, that people in their cars are invisible. In fact, not even the cars are visible. Next we have one more photo of the graphics category. My professor loved this, and to be honest I'm not sure I understand why. He says that it's very odd to see this girl behind bars in the middle of a town, (you can see a bit of the town in the reflection of the glass), and I get that. Can you tell she is looking towards the reflection of the town? Number four, is another one that gives the feeling of being trapped. It's like an old, abandoned hotel, that we are sort of not allowed to enter. It's amazing how nature and graffiti meet in the fifth photo. It's as if those tree roots are her hair and that car has the perfect colour. The sixth picture was taken while I was sitting in the bus and I honestly have no idea how I managed to get those beautiful particles on the right side. Full of reflections, one more in the graphics category. Photo number seven was taken in front of a telephone booth and the building on the right is my uni's library. And last but not least, we have a photograph of the town, but with a reflection of the town on the opposite side, out of focus.

So, those are my photographs for my Urban Poetry assignment. All of them were taken in Limassol, which is a town in Cyprus, by the way. My professor liked all of them and gave me a very good grade. I hope you enjoyed learning more about what I do at university and if you would like more posts like this one, let me know. Thank you for spending your time on my blog.
